Thrissur: A 45-year-old woman died after being run over by a private bus at Amballur in Thrissur on Sunday. The deceased, Siji, wife of Joshi, was a native of Nellayi Panthalloor. The accident happened around 7.30 am.
According to police, the two-wheeler on which Siji was travelling with her husband lost control and overturned near the entry point to the National Highway, where underpass construction was in progress. Siji was thrown onto the road, and the bus coming from behind ran over her with its rear wheel. She was pulled out after the bus was reversed. Though she was rushed to a private hospital in Thrissur, she succumbed to her injuries.
Siji worked as a temporary employee at an ayurveda company in Thaikattussery and was on her way to work at the time of the accident. The Pudukad Police have registered a case and initiated a probe.
