Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, along with the AICC, on Thursday announced the list of office bearers following its reconstitution under the new president, Sunny Joseph. 

This list consisted of 13 vice presidents, 58 general secretaries, and the Political Affairs Committee, which has been expanded with six additional members. MPs Rajmohan Unnithan, VK Sreekandan, Dean Kuriakosen, besides three former MLAs - Pandalom Sudhakaran, AK Mani and CP Mohammed have been inducted into the Political Affairs Committee.

The new vice presidents include T. Sarathchandra Prasad, Palode Ravi, VT Balram, VP Sajindran, Mathew Kuzhalnadan, D Sugathan, M Liju, AA Shukkoor, M Vincent, Roy K Paulose and Jaison Joseph, Hibi Eden, veteran party leader T Sarathchandra Prasad, and Ramya Haridas, who is the sole woman in the list. Notably, Sandeep Warrier, who quit the BJP during the Palakkad by-election last year, has been appointed a general secretary.

M Liju, who was the organisation's general secretary, has been elevated to vice president. Palode Ravi, who had stepped down as Thiruvananthapuram DCC president and D Sugathan, known for his proximity to Vellappally Natesan, are among the new appointees. Meanwhile, VA Narayanan will serve as KPCC treasurer.

Maryapuram Sreekumar, G Subodhanan, GS Babu and N Shaktan, who was in charge of the Thiruvananthapuram DCC and a vice president, were dropped.

The move is intended as a major organisational revamp. It is expected to strengthen the state unit ahead of the upcoming local body polls and the assembly polls to be held next year.
