Elderly man hacks wife to death in Palakkad

Palakkad: In a shocking incident, a 65-year-old man hacked his wife to death at Pallanchathanur here on Wednesday morning. The victim is Indira (60), a native of Pollappadam.

The crime occurred at the couple’s residence in the early hours of Wednesday. According to neighbours, the accused, Vasu, himself informed them about the murder. It is learned that a domestic dispute on Tuesday night led to the fatal attack.

Police arrested Vasu after he confessed to the crime and surrendered. Manorama News reported that inquest procedures are underway at the scene. Indira’s body will be taken to the Government District Hospital in Palakkad for autopsy, police said.
