Tiles laid to repair damaged road at Mangattukavala after months of complaints

Thodupuzha: The damaged stretch of the road in front of the petrol pump at Mangattukavala in Thodupuzha has been repaired by laying tiles after a wait that lasted several months. The large potholes at the spot had been causing major inconvenience to hundreds of motorists passing through the area every day. The repair work was undertaken following a Malayala Manorama report highlighting the frequent traffic snarls caused by the potholes.

The spot is located on the road heading to Karikkode from Mangattukavala. Though the authorities filled the potholes with tar mixture last month, large pits reappeared at the same spot after a week. This road lies along the route to District Hospital, District Ayurveda Hospital and places such as Pannimattom and Anakkayam. 

Two-wheeler riders were the worst sufferers of the dilapidated condition of the road and they are now relieved that tiles have been laid to make travelling easy.
