Alappuzha: On December 9, four siblings from Charummood will experience a significant milestone as they step into the world of democracy together. Ashalakshmi, Ashwin, Athul, and Arjun, 19-year-old quadruplets from the Erumakkuzhy Nediyaparambil House, will cast their very first votes in the upcoming local body elections.

The children of Shanthan and Maya are registered at Booth No 2 of Adikkattukulangara LPS, where they will make their debut as voters.

Ashalakshmi is pursuing BSc Nursing in Bengaluru, while Ashwin and Athul are studying hotel management in Wayanad. Arjun is doing his BA Animation at St Joseph College of Animation in Changanassery and is the only one currently staying at home.

All four plan to return to their respective campuses only after knowing whether the candidates they voted for have won. The Shanthan–Maya couple had the quadruplets after a long wait of nine years.

Despite growing up amid struggles and financial hardship, the siblings studied together from Class 1 to Plus Two, achieving their milestones side by side. Both their parents are now battling illnesses. Shanthan, who once worked abroad, is unable to walk following an accident, while their mother is undergoing treatment for a heart-related ailment.
