Thalassery: Anvin Vijesh, a class 3 student at O Chathumenon Smaraka UP School, Valiyamadavil, has won accolades from Speaker A N Shamseer and Minister V Sivankutty for writing a thought-provoking note on hunger.

In his note, Anvin wrote: “Never waste food. Countless children in Gaza and Ukraine go hungry, unable to get even a single meal. Every grain you throw away is as precious as a life. Food is invaluable and should never be wasted.” He composed this message while revising his Malayalam lessons, after his teacher gave the class the topic “do not waste food.”

Speaker Shamseer praised Anvin on Facebook, noting that “even though we often tell children not to waste food, this young boy has conveyed the true meaning of hunger through his little fingers.”

Anvin Vijesh is the son of V P Vijesh of Valiyaparambath House and K C Nimisha, an employees of the Punnol Bank. Vijesh is also a member of the CPM Kodiyeri North Local Committee.
