Defending champions India crushed Sri Lanka by 60 runs to maintain a perfect record in the group stages of the Women's U-19 T20 World Cup in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
India restricted Lanka to 58/9 after posting 118/9. Right-arm pacer Joshitha V J, the only Keralite in the Indian squad, bagged two wickets. Shabnam Shakil and Parunika Sisodia also claimed two wickets each. Vaishnavi Sharma, who bagged a fifer on her debut against Malaysia, and Aayushi Shukla, took a wicket each.
For India, opener G Trisha top-scored with a 44-ball 49. Joshitha contributed with a nine-ball 14, including a six. India had drubbed West Indies by 9 wickets before humbling hosts Malayasia by 10 wickets earlier. India have advanced to the Super 6s.
