Shoaib Bashir who removed the last Indian batter to give England a 22-run win at Lord’s has been replaced by Liam Dawson for the fourth Test at Manchester.

Having played a significant part in England's victory over India at Lord's, young off-spinner Shoaib Bashir has been replaced by left-arm spinner Liam Dawson for the fourth Test.

Bashir fractured a finger on his non-bowling left hand during the third Test but claimed the final wicket of Mohammed Siraj to hand England a 22-run win on day five.

The 21-year-old finished the match with two wickets, one in each innings. The fracture that he sustained while attempting a low catch off his own bowling will require surgery this week.

Bashir's replacement, Dawson, has not played a Test match since July 2017. However, the 35-year-old was part of England's white-ball team until as recent as last month's series against West Indies.
