Kerala star Minnu Mani-led India A defeated New Zealand in an ICC Women's World Cup warm-up match in Bengaluru on Thursday.

India won by four wickets, with three balls remaining, under the DLS method.

Isabella Gaze scored an unbeaten 101 as New Zealand posted 273/9. Sayali Satghare claimed three wickets, while six other Indian bowlers, including skipper Minnu, took one wicket apiece.

In response, opener Shafali Verma scored a 49-ball 70. Minnu and Madiwala Mamatha made unbeaten 39 and 56 respectively to get India past the revised target of 226.

Meanwhile, India's main squad lost by a massive 153 runs to England in another warm-up match. English captain Nat Sciver-Brunt's 104-ball 120, supported by Emma Lamb's 84, powered them to 340/9. India, led on the evening by Jemimah Rodrigues, were bundled out for 187. Rodrigues made 66, while Uma Chetry added 45. Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur did not bat.

The World Cup, starting September 30, will be held in India and Sri Lanka. India open against Sri Lanka in Guwahati, while the final is scheduled for November 2.

Wayanad native Minnu is not part of India's 15-member World Cup squad, but she is among the reserves.
