After a series of remarkable individual performances in the recently concluded ICC Women’s World Cup, South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt moved into No 1 in ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings.

South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt displaced Smriti Mandhana from the top of the ICC Women's ODI batting rankings despite a heartbreaking World Cup final loss to India.

Wolvaardt 101 in the final, her second century of the latest Women's World Cup, but saw India prevail by 52 runs. The opener finished on 571 runs, the most in a single edition of the tournament.

The incredible tournament propelled Wolvaardt to a career-high 814 points. Mandhana, on 811 points, slipped to the second position. The Indian opener also had a good tournament, scoring a century and two half-centuries, accumulating 434 runs.

Meanwhile, India's Jemimah Rodrigues climbed nine spots to 10th in the latest rankings. Her match-winning hundred against Australia in the semifinal in Navi Mumbai played a big part in Rodrigues' improvement in the rankings.
