Nisshin: The much anticipated quarterfinal game between India and Afghanistan in the Asian Games men’s cricket was abandoned without a ball being bowled. The venue was hit by torrential rain, which prevented the teams from proceeding with the game.
India automatically advanced to the semifinals of the competition by virtue of higher seeding. India ranks first in the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20I rankings with a tally of 17480 points, while Afghanistan sits 10th on the table with 8925 points.
India will face the winner of Tuesday's quarterfinal match between Sri Lanka and Nepal in the semifinal.
