The second season of Super League Kerala (SLK) will begin with defending champions Calicut FC taking on last season's runners-up Forca Kochi at the EMS Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode on October 2.
The match is set to kick-off at 7.45 pm after a cultural programme, scheduled to begin at 5.45 pm, featuring a live performance from rapper Vedan, who created the league's anthem.
SLK is a franchise league featuring six teams, namely Calicut FC, Forca Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram Kombans, Thrissur Magic, Malappuram FC and Kannur Warriors.
The organisers said while four venues were used for the first season, every franchise will have a home ground this edition, with the addition of the Corporation Stadium in Thrissur and Jawahar Municipal Stadium in Kannur.
Forca Kochi, which played their home matches at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium last season, have made the Maharaja's College Ground in Kochi their home turf.
The organisers said the second season will feature a FIFA-approved official match ball called 'Saho', manufactured by Nivia.
All six franchises have foreign coaches, while 36 overseas players will be part of the upcoming campaign. Of the 150 Indian players contracted with the SLK franchises, 100 are Kerala-based.
SLK-2 will be broadcast on Sony Ten 2, DD Malayalam, and streamed free on the Sports.com app, said the organisers.
