Thrissur has clinched the title of the 61st Senior Inter-District State Football Championship, held at the Maharaja's College Stadium in Ernakulam on Tuesday. A two-goal lead in the first half helped Thrissur outplay Idukki in the final.

Santhosh P opened the scoring for Thrissur in the 26th minute, and six minutes later, Abin Krishna doubled the lead, securing a comfortable scoreline before half-time. Thrissur defended their lead in the second half, while Idukki struggled to break the deadlock and mount a comeback.

Adding to Idukki’s woes, defender Muhammed Thameem E N was shown a red card in the 88th minute, further diminishing their chances. Thrissur held on to their lead to claim the title.

Meanwhile, in the third-place match, Kottayam defeated Alappuzha with a commanding 4-0 scoreline. Sal Anas opened the scoring for Kottayam in the 13th minute while Vyshnav P scored a hat-trick before half-time to seal the match.
