Defending champions Calicut FC held Kannur Warriors to a 1-1 draw despite playing the entire second half with 10 men in a Super League Kerala match at the EMS Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode on Wednesday.

Midfielder Mohammed Asif was sent off late in the first half after receiving the second yellow card. Unbeaten Kannur remain top of the points table with 8 points from four matches, while Calicut are fourth on five points.

Both goals in the match came before the sending off. A K Mohammed Ashraf put the hosts ahead from a corner in the 28th minute. The visitors equalised 10 minutes later with Asier Gomez beating the goalkeeper Hajmal after being assisted by Adrian Sardinero. Boasso Fleury nearly scored a dramatic winner for Calicut, but his effort in the 76th minute hit the bar.
