Kerala's Karan Thapa has inched closer to the main draw after winning his second qualifying match of the Naushad Mather Memorial National Ranking Tennis Tournament in Kochi on Sunday. Thapa defeated Ajay Kannan of Tamil Nadu 6/3, 6/2.

Meanwhile, the women's main draw was finalised on the day. Top seed Pooja Ingale of Maharashtra will take on Sreenidi Reddy of Telangana.

One of the qualifiers, Ekta Suresh Ingle, will face fifth seed Chevika Reddy. Reshma VSS, Diya Darshini, Ananya SR, Ahana Bojanna, Hamsika T, Disha Behera and Sonal Patil are the other qualifiers in the main draw that will begin on Monday.
