Kottayam: This weekend, enjoying a spicy "Kaada Fry," while Taylor Swift's "A place in this world" wafted through the air, was my perfect idea of mixing music, food, enjoyment and random musings. The place that I chose for the rendezvous was Wheels Restaurant, Kanjikuzhy, Kottayam. Under the dim lights, the 'Kaada Fry' looked so appealing and I could sense the smells from the dish egging me to take a big bite. Much care goes into the preparation of the delicious Japanese Quail dish. The dressed bird is first marinated in spicy Kerala masalas and then deep fried to ensure that the masalas penetrate deep into the flesh. Served with onion salad, one of the signature dishes of Wheels Restaurant, it makes one most delicious snack or lunch! The Wheels gallery restaurant, is one of the oldest restaurants in Kottayam where you could go with your family or venture alone and spend sometime without any tumults. For starters, you could begin dining by selecting from the six soups such as Sweet Corn Chicken Soup, French Onion Soup, Cream of tomato soup, WonTon Soup, Hot & Sour Soup and Thalumein Soup that are available here. eg and nonveg fried rice, noodles, fish and seafood, grills and fries, beef and pork and North Indian dishes. After the main course, you could wind up your dining with a lemonade, a cold coffee or a chocolate sundae. If you are craving for snacks, you could choose hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches etc. hand, if you are a foodie and love to experiment with new dishes, the restaurant has three signature dishes to delight your taste buds: Wheels Fried Chicken (fresh chicken marinated in spicy Kerala masala, deep fried in coconut oil and served with onion salad), Men Chow Soup (A nourishing soup made from chicken stock with soya sauce and flavoured with coriander leaves), Stuffed Chicken (full chicken stuffed with mixed vegetable pulao, marinated in spicy Kerala masala, and deep fried in coconut oil, served with salad).
