What if the view outside your work desk was the scenic Anayirankal Dam and the hills of Suryanelli, blanketed in the green of fresh tea leaves? The Kerala Forest Development Corporation (KFDC) is offering visitors just that with its new workation facility at the Anayirankal camp.
The facility at the Anayirankal camp in Suryanelli is part of KFDC's newly introduced workation initiative, aimed at catering to the growing interest in travel and working from nature-friendly locations.
Apart from Suryanelli, KFDC has a workation facility at Gavi in Pathanamthitta district. The packages are for four days and three nights and are priced at ₹14,000 for two people, including food and internet facilities. Three rooms have been set up for the workation programme at the Anayirankal camp.
The 'work from nature' initiative was inaugurated by Chief Minister V D Satheesan in Thiruvananthapuram recently. Bookings are being accepted through the KFDC website.
The Anayirankal camp was taken back by the Revenue Department in 2020 after it was found to have been held by a private individual using a fabricated title deed. The cottages and around nine acres of land at the site were subsequently handed over to KFDC.
