Kasaragod: The LBS Engineering College emerged winners at the KTU F-ZONE inter-collegiate handball championship held at the college grounds on Saturday. Students from various colleges, including the hosts, Government College of Engineering, Kannur, and North Malabar Institute of Technology, Kanhangad, participated.
The LBS team won the opening match of the day against GCE, Kannur. The score read 11-18. In another match GCE beat NMIT, 7-0. In the last round, LBS trounced NMIT 11-1 and became the champions.
The prizes were distributed to the champions and runners-up by dean Vinod George. He was accompanied by sports captain Rafih P M and two referees.
The players were cheered by spectators who gathered around the venue.
NSS volunteers of the host college made necessary arrangements for the event. They also provided the participants with refreshments.
The ground for the game was made ready by the volunteers days before the game.
