The Model United Nations Society of Model Engineering College (MEC MUN SOC) is looking forward to conducting an e-MUN program for students to raise awareness on COVID-19 and to raise funds for Kerala CMDRF.
In the wake of the lockdown due to the Covid outbreak, MEC MUNSOC is hosting its first-ever e-MUN. The conference will have executive members who are prominent names in the Kerala circuit and beyond. The event is scheduled to be held online on May 7-8. The registrations for the event are open. The chief guest will be the Agriculture Minister of Kerala Shri V Sunil Kumar, who is also in-charge of Ernakulam district for the fight against the pandemic.
The conference simulates four committees. These committees have been chosen after careful deliberation, as they are of utmost importance in the COVID-19 pandemic.
In regard to the economic and social impact of the virus on the world, they have the Economic and Social Council with the agenda 'critically analysing the various forms of aid and economic policies of countries during the COVID-19 pandemic and reviewing associated speculations.'
To give the participants a stimulating discussion while handling the responsibility of being the head of a state, there is the All CM Meet PM with the agenda 'analysing the role of states in the socio-political-economic revival of India post-COVID.'
The World Health Organisation (WHO) will conduct debates with the agenda 'legalisation of medical marijuana.' To analyse the conference and to ask compelling questions from the delegates, there is the International Press.
The funds raised through the conference will be given to CMDRF for the fight against COVID-19. The participants for the same will be provided with e-certificates. Prizes worth Rs 6,000 are awaiting the winners.
