Annual exams for classes 1 to 9 from March 23

Kollam/Thiruvananthapuram: The annual examinations for classes one to nine will commence on March 23 and end on April 2, whereas the examinations for first-year high secondary and VHSE will be held from June 2 to 18.

As announced earlier, the SSLC exams will be held from March 31 to April 29, and Plus-Two students will have their examinations from March 30 to April 22.

Minister for General Education V Sivankutty announced the dates on Saturday, putting an end to the uncertainty over the annual examinations.

Detailed time tables of the examinations are available on the website, education.kerala.gov.in.

Students of classes one to four will be evaluated based on worksheets instead of making them sit for the exams, whereas students of classes five to nine will have multiple questions to choose from.

Though questions will be asked from the entire syllabus, most of them will be from the initial portions.

The annual examinations for classes one to nine were not held in the past two years due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

The minister also announced that the schools will reopen after the summer vacation on June 1. The cleaning of schools and their premises will commence on May 15.

The Department of General Education will publish the academic calendar for the next year in May. Training for teachers will also be held in May, the minister said.

 

Kerala entrance on June 12

 

The entrance examination for admission to engineering, pharmacy degree courses in Kerala will be held on June 12.

Examination for the first paper, Physics-Chemistry, will be held from 10 am to 12.30, and the second paper, Mathematics, will be from 2.30 pm to 5 pm.
