Full-time PG Diploma courses at various C–DAC centres, apply online

The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing or C-DAC is a national-level institution holding scientific research and training. It functions under the aegis of the central government.

Online applications are invited for 14 full-time post graduate diploma courses that lasts for 26 weeks each (900 hours) at various C-DAC centres across the nation. The applications could be submitted until 18 June.

The learning is mostly via online mode. There are lab sessions and project work too. The classes will begin on 15 September.

The candidates should attend the C–CAT (C–DAC’s Common Admission Test) that has been scheduled on 30 and 31 June, in person.

The exam fee is Rs 1,550.

Who can apply?
Those who are engineering graduates (IT, CS, Electronics, Telecom, Electrical, Instrumentation) or are qualified in MSc/MS (CS, IT, Electronics), BTech in Civil/ Petroleum, BArch, PG in Maths/ Physics/ Statistics and MCA can apply.

The applicants should have scored 50/ 55/ 60% marks in the qualifying exams depending upon the programmes. The document that proves success in the qualifying exam should be submitted at least by 31 December.

Programmes offered in Kerala
1. Thiruvananthapuram: 90 seats for PG Diploma in Advanced Computing; 60 seats for Big Data Analytics; and 60 seats in Cyber Security and Forensics. 2. Kochi: There are 60 seats for PG Diploma in Advanced Computing.

There is no age restriction. The course fee for Big Data Analytics is Rs 97,750 while it is Rs 76,500 for the other two courses. Besides, there would be GST charges too.

C–DAC courses have an impressive history of amazing placements.

Entrance test
In the entrance test there will be A, B and C parts that contain 50 objective type questions each. The candidates will get an hour each to answer the questions in each part.

For admission to courses offered in Kerala, only A and B parts need to be attempted.

The course would be completed within 15 March 2023. The candidates should attend the final exams in person.
