Chennai's KCG College of Technology hosts 21st Graduation Day

Chennai: The KCG College of Technology, Chennai, conducted its 21st Graduation Day ceremony in which the Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, Dr R Velraj, conferred academic degrees to 958 graduands. The rank holders received medals and cash awards along with their degree certificates.

In the graduation day address, Dr R Velraj congratulated the graduands on their momentous achievement and said, “huge opportunities awaits Indian youths in the next two decades. To capitalize them, know the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges of oneself and the country. Increase your potential, decrease your resistance, upskill yourself, become multi-disciplinary, trans-disciplinary and integrate emerging technologies with your specialised domain. Take risks and involve in start-ups which the country is looking for,” he added.

Anand Sundaresan, Director, Management Board of Ammann India Private Ltd. was the guest of honour. Dr Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman, the Hindustan Group of Institutions, presided over the function. The Principal, Dr Muthukannan, welcomed the gathering and presented the graduation day report. Dr Annie Jacob, Director, KCG College of Technology and Dr G Prabakaran, the Dean Academics were also present at the ceremony.

Addressing the freshly graduated, Anand Sundaresan said pursuing one’s passion, good teamwork, excellent communication, maintaining a high energy level, valuable decision making, ability to embrace change and trusting oneself and others are the qualities required of successful professionals and encouraged the graduands to continue working on them.

In his presidential address, the Chairman Dr Anand Jacob Verghese as words of encouragement and advice to the graduating students said “embrace change with open heart and curious mind, persevere and carry resilience forward, celebrate achievements and use setbacks as lessons for greater accomplishments”.

KCG College of Technology was founded in 1998 to fulfil the Founder-Chairman, Dr. KCG Verghese’s vision “to make every man a success and no man a failure”. It is a Christian minority institution, affiliated to Anna University (Autonomous), Chennai and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The college offers thirteen undergraduate and five post-graduate programmes. Six undergraduate programmes (Mech, ECE, CSE, IT, EEE & Aero) have Permanent Affiliation under Anna University. Four undergraduate programmes – Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and Information Technology (IT) – are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The college is accredited by NAAC with A+ Grade.
