Kerala Technological University to start 3 centres of excellence

Thiruvananthapuram: The Syndicate of the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University has decided to establish three 'centres of excellence' of international standards to lead innovative studies and research in science and technology.

The centre for excellence on sustainable development and carbon neutrality will be set up at the campus of the Government Engineering College, Kannur.

The centre for excellence in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics and Automation will be established at the Model Engineering College in Ernakulam. The centre on emerging materials and related fields will be set up at the campus of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology in Kottayam.

The University has set aside Rs 30 crore in the budget for establishing the centres of excellence.

The erstwhile Kerala Technological University is now known as the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.
