AMMA meeting: WCC seeks details of when, where and how

After the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) responded positively to the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC)'s request for meeting over the Dileep issue, the collective said no details are being communicated. (Dileep is an accused in the February 17, 2017 abduction and assault of a young actress in Kochi).

On Tuesday, WCC took to Facebook and thanked everyone for the immense support being received from all quarters. “Social media, student forums, women associations, political unions, we thank everyone for extending their support for a democratic cause," read the post.

It further stated, “The executive committee of AMMA, in response to our letter, has agreed to hold a meeting with the members of WCC and discuss the grievances. But when and where will the meeting be and the details of the participants remain unanswered.”

Earlier, WCC’s letter of condemnation to AMMA was signed by Revathy, Padmapriya and Parvathy who demanded an emergency meeting with the executive committee.

The WCC was formed by a group of young film actresses including Rima Kallingal, Geetu Mohandas, Remya Nambeesan, Parvathy, and script writer Deedi Damodaran. Rima, Geetu and Remya had quit AMMA after Dileep was re-inducted into association.
