It is hard to resist the beautifully cut barfis that are displayed on the glass shelves of sweet shops, which would leave you broke every festival season. We have a solution for you. Why do you have to go for expensive sweets when you can make better ones at home? Try out this easy khoya barfi recipe that takes just 15 minutes to make, impress your family and guests.

Ingredients
1 cup crumbled unsweetened khoya (dried evaporated milk or Mawa)
¼ cup ricotta cheese
¾ cup condensed milk
1 tsp kewra or rose essence
Few drops of red food coloring (optional)1 tbsp ghee
Preparation
Grease a plate with little ghee and keep aside
In a heavy bottomed pan, melt ghee, add grated khoya and cook it for 2-3 mins, stirring often
Add ricotta cheese, condensed milk, food color and kewra essence to it and keep stirringWhen the mixture turns to a single mass, switch off flame and transfer the mixture to the greased plate
Spread it with a spatula and allow it to cool completely
Cut into desired shapes and enjoy!
Notes
1.Adjust sweetness as per your taste 2.If you are not able to cut the barfi into shapes, add some milk powder to the mixture, knead it and spread again in the plate.
