Dates coconut balls

Date balls are the magic recipes that would easily find a place in your traditional festival platter as well as the Christmas cookie list. These easy dry fruit laddoos made with dates, cashew nuts and corn flakes are given unique flavor with grated coconut. If you want it to go vegetarian, you can take out the egg from ingredient list. But adding egg would make the balls softer. You can serve it as a snack or a dessert after a sumptuous festival meal.

Ingredients
1 cup dates, cut in small pieces
½ cup butter
½ cup sugar
½ cup cut cashew nuts
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla essence
½ cup grated coconut, slightly ground
2 cups corn flakes

Preparation
Add butter, sugar and cashew nuts to the sliced dates
Break the egg into it
Add vanilla essence and mix well
Add grated coconut to this mixture and mix well
Heat a pan and add this mixture in it
Stir continuously till the sugar melts
Turn off the stove and let it cool down a bit
Bow add corn flakes to it and mix well
Grease your hands with butter
Pinch out some of this mixture and roll them into tiny balls in your hands
Garnish with grated coconut and serve
