Shawarma sandwich

A tasty and juicy shawarma sandwich is a perfect snack for an iftar party. It is easier to make than actual shawarma and tastes just as good. Here is how you could make a shawarma sandwich at home.

Ingredients
1 cup onions
1 cup carrot
1 cup cabbage
250 gm chicken
1 tsp pepper powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp chilli powder
2 tbsp oil
Bread slices
Salt as required

Preparation
Pressure cook the chicken with ½ tsp turmeric powder and ½ tsp pepper powder and half cup water as well
Cook until the cooker whistles once
Shred the cooked chicken
Save the chicken stock to be used later
Heat oil in a pan and sauté the cabbage, carrot and onions
Add chilli powder and pepper powder
Mix well
Into it add the shredded chicken and the stock as well
Cook until the water reduces
Turn off the flame as soon as the stock reduces
Place this filling on a bread slice
Fold the bread slice and toast both sides on a hot pan
Enjoy the hot shawarma sandwich with tomato ketchup or creamy mayonnaise.
