Try this instant rasam

Check out the recipe of tasty tomato rasam that could be prepared in a jiffy.

Ingredients
1 tomato (finely diced)
5 shallots (crushed)
1 small piece ginger (crushed)
8 garlic cloves (crushed)
2 dried chillies
Curry leaves as required
Coriander leaves as required
Lemon sized ball of tamarind
½ tbsp chilli powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
½ tbsp pepper powder
½ tbsp asafoetida powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder

Preparation
Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds
Roast the dry chillies
Sauté the crushed ginger, garlic and shallots
Now add chilli powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, asafoetida powder and turmeric powder
Sauté until the raw smell of the powders is gone
Add the tomato and mix well
Into it add tamarind water, salt and 2 cups water
Cook until the rasam boils nicely
Garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves
Tasty and fragrant rasam is ready.
