Many people easily come up with excuses to skip workouts. However, Kerala's Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala thinks differently. No matter how busy he is, apparently he never misses his yoga session. This remains true even after he became Kerala's Home Minister. He finds time for yoga amidst departmental duties and meetings, and speaks to us on Yoga Day.

Feeling of loss if yoga is missed
As a public figure, I often struggle to maintain punctuality in my work due to my busy schedule. But, no matter how busy I am, I set aside half an hour for yoga. If I miss yoga for a day, I feel like something significant has been lost. Even when I come back exhausted, practising yoga rejuvenates my mind and body. In my opinion, all public leaders should practice yoga.

Yoga has completely changed my life
My life has changed completely since I started practising yoga. I can respond calmly to even the most provocative situations. I gained control over my anger only after I started practising yoga. Practising meditation alongside yoga keeps the mind calm at all times and improves concentration.

No change even after becoming a minister
Being Kerala's Home Minister is a big responsibility. In fact, the Home Minister has to be on duty 24 hours a day. However, I find time for yoga. Even when I have to travel to Delhi or other places, I do not miss my yoga. I set aside the specific time for it.

A friend in Delhi taught me yoga
A friend in Delhi taught me yoga. Yoga became a part of my life when I was living in Delhi as a Member of Parliament. I have been practising yoga for years now. Yoga has no caste, religion, or politics. Anyone can practice it. Vajrasana and Padmasana are my favourites.
