The summer heatwave takes a toll on our skin health as well, resulting in dull skin and compromised skin barrier. If not nourished properly, the summer heat may lead to issues like pigmentation. Skincare and hair care shouldn’t be missed even during the harsh summer. Besides, your regular makeup styles and products could be replaced with more summer-friendly shades and formulas.

Do not forget to use nourishing face masks at least twice a week as summer may cause severe skin damage. Hydrating masks are best for refreshing dry skin. Meanwhile, tightening masks suit acne-prone skin to keep away infections. The scalp may get itchy due to accumulated sweat and dirt. Deep moisturising shampoo and conditioner should be used to clean the hair and scalp during summer. Scalp balms should be used to prevent hair fall.

These tips could keep away heat rashes or prickly heat:
1) Do not rub the skin harshly using towels after taking a shower. Instead, gently pat on the skin to remove moisture. Apply non–fragrant powder on the body to absorb the moisture.
2) Calamine lotions are best to calm the skin.

3) Eat lots of green leafy vegetables
4) Take a bath in water infused with neem leaves. Applying neem leaf paste on the skin would soothe the rashes and itchiness.
5) To remove pigmentation and acne on the neck:

6) People with acne-prone skin may have back acne or painful pimples on the neck area too. You could use the same anti-pimple pack that you apply on your face on your neck too. While doing facials, do not forget to massage the neck as well as your back. Steaming the neck and back would help settle down the pimples.

7) Pigmentation on the folds of your neck could be caused by many reasons. Using thick neck chains regularly would lead to dark spots and pigmentation.
8) Using a face scrub at least twice in a week would remove the dead skin cells. Moreover, do not forget to apply sunscreen to prevent tanning, pigmentation and premature ageing.
