Alappuzha: Rakhul Krishnan, a partner of the Dubai-based JAAS Tourism LLC, which accused sons of two prominent LDF leaders of defaulting loans, claimed that he had not filed any complaint against Binoy Kodiyeri or his father Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.
In a WhatsApp message, he clarified that he was no longer a partner of the tour company in question.
"I don’t have any business partnership with Binoy Kodiyeri or Sreejith Vijayan (son of Chavara MLA Vijayan N Pillai). I had helped them secure loans from banks in Dubai by showing track record and credit history of my company which had an annual turnover of Rs 120 crore. Hasan Ismaeel Abdulla Almarzooqi, a native of the UAE, had 51 per cent stake in the company, while the remaining shares were held by me. At present, I live in Kerala and farming is my only source of income. I had to sell and mortgage my properties and savings in gold as well as take loans from many persons to clear off the huge debt I incurred in Dubai due to others. I'm yet to receive that money.
"I have visited Sreejith's house seventeen times seeking at least a small portion of the amount taken by him as loan, but to no avail. I had a bitter experience when I went to his residence recently. He even refused to talk and forced me to leave the house. It was then I lodged a complaint. Binoy still is a good friend of mine. I'm sad to be a part of the controversy that has brought ignominy to our party. My father was a party member for over 45 years and was in EMS Namboodiripad's personal staff.
Rakhul’s father Radhakrishna Pillai said he did not want to comment on the controversy. "I'm suffering from various ailments. Please leave me alone. Rakhul will soon reveal his side of the story," Radhakrishna Pillai, who lives at Edappon near Charumoodu in Alappuzha district, said.
