COVID: Kerala logs 922 fresh cases; TPR at 3.6%

Kerala on Thursday reported 922 fresh cases of coronavirus and 1,329 recoveries from the infection.

Test Positivity Rate (TPR) on the day was 3.6% after 25,639 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

No recent fatalities were reported as COVID-related. However, with the addition of 130 previously undocumented deaths, Kerala's COVID tally has reached 67,138.

Of the fresh cases, 871 contracted the virus through contact while the source of infection in 41 remains unknown. Besides, eight healthcare workers were also infected on the day.

There are 21,886 persons under observation in the state, of whom 21,164 are in home/institutional quarantine and 722 in hospitals.

Of the 6,998 active cases in Kerala, 9.6% are in hospitals, including 104 fresh admissions.

Most recoveries on the day was reported in Ernakulam (212) followed by Thiruvananthapuram (176) and Kottayam (146).
