Wayanad: A 52-year-old woman was killed when the car she was travelling in collided with a truck at Begur on the Tholppetti road on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Chemala Safiya, a resident of Puthenpura Colony, Kuzhinilam. Safiya was travelling with her husband, Muhammed Kutti (67), son Sathar (30), and daughter Thasleena (17) when the accident happened. The family was on their way to Kutta in Karnataka to visit Sathar’s wife, Nisva.

Following a post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to the family, and the funeral was held at the Juma Masjid Khabarstan, Kuzhinilam, on Sunday evening.
