Eight-year-old riding pillion with father dies after scooter-van crash in Kasaragod

Kasaragod: An eight-year-old boy who sustained serious injuries after a minivan rammed into a scooter ridden by his father died while undergoing treatment on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Pranush P, son of M Prabhakaran of Pallath at Uliyathadukka in Kasaragod's Madhur panchayat. The accident occurred on the morning of October 3 at Kattathangadi.

According to police, Pranush was riding pillion with his father when a minivan parked on the roadside suddenly pulled onto the road and hit their scooter. The boy suffered critical injuries and was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.

Badiadka Police have registered a case against the minivan driver for causing the accident.
