Wayanad: Two people were killed and three others injured after a Taurus truck hit a car near Begur in Karnataka on Saturday. The deceased are Madakkimala Karinchery Abdul Basheer (54), a native of Kambalakkad near Kalpetta, and his sister's daughter-in-law Jaseera (28). 

Three others- Nuchayil Muhammed Shafi (32), husband of Jaseera, their son Hysom Hanan (3), and Naseema (45)- sustained injuries and have been admitted to Manipal Hospital in Mysuru.

The accident occurred around 10 am while the family was on its way back to Wayanad after a foreign trip. They landed at the Bengaluru airport earlier in the day. Post-mortem procedures were conducted at the Government Hospital in Begur, following which the mortal remains were transported to Kambalakkad by evening.

Basheer is survived by his wife, Naseema, and three children—Farhan, Fahmida, and Fadil—as well as his parents, Moideen and Sainaba. Jaseera is survived by her parents Kunjimoidu and Sakkeena, and her sister Sakkeera.
