Nottingham: Stuart Broad dismissed dangerman, K L Rahul, as India ended day four of the first Test against England 157 runs away from a win at Trent Bridge.
After being set a target of 209 runs, India made 52/1 at stumps on the penultimate day with Rahul scoring four boundaries in his 26-run knock.
Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara, both unbeaten on 12 runs each, will need to stay focussed to chase down the risky target on the final day.
Earlier, riding on skipper Joe Root's century, England posted a total of 303, setting India a target of 209 runs.
Root scored his 21st Test century (109 off 172 balls) before being dismissed by Bumrah, who later claimed a fifer by adding the wickets of Sam Curran and Stuart Broad to his account.
The England captain had also top-scored in their first innings total of 183. Jonny Bairstow and Curran contributed 30 and 32 runs respectively as the hosts managed to emerge from their poor showing in the first innings.
Earlier, Rishabh Pant gave a good account of his wicketkeeping skills, taking three catches after England resumed on 25 for no loss at Trent Bridge.
