England crushed India by 125 runs in the third match of a T20I series at Trent Bridge.

Reigning T20 World Champions India suffered their biggest defeat in the format after losing by 125 runs to England at Trent Bridge on Tuesday.

Josh Tongue and Jofra Archer shared seven wickets between them as England bowled out India for a paltry 76 runs after posting 201/7. The hosts lead the series 2-0.

India came into the series on the back of a 2-0 series defeat in Ireland. If Shreyas Iyer’s India fail to win the next two matches in England, it would result in consecutive series defeats. It would be humiliating for a side that retained their world title in March.

Skipper Shreyas Iyer called his side’s performance ‘atrocious’. “Losing by such a big margin is definitely not acceptable,” Iyer said post-match.

Teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's 13 was the joint-highest score, while six players, including the skipper, were dismissed for single digits.

Phil Salt top-scored with a 44-ball 70, while Sam Curran made 41 not out off 24 and Jos Buttler added 36 as England set India a target of 202.
