Jakarta: Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan entered the men's doubles final of the Asian Games tennis competition at Palembang on Thursday.

Bopanna and Sharan saw off the Japanese duo of Kaito Uesugi and Sho Shimabukuro 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 in the semifinals.

Earlier, Ankita Raina went down fighting to China's Shuai Zhang in the woman's singles semifinals and had to be satisfied with the bronze medal.

Zhang clinched the opening set 6-4 in 54 minutes. Though Ankita tried her level best in the second set, Zhang wrapped up the tie in a tie-break. The match lasted two hours and nine minutes.

The 25-year-old Ankita is only the second Indian woman - after Sania Mirza (2006 silver and 2010 bronze)-to pick up an Asian Games medal in women's singles tennis.
