Floating restaurant, house boat terminal and more to be launched in Kumarakom

Kumarakam: Adding impetus to the tourism sector in Kumarakam, Minister PA Muhammad Riyas will inaugurate two flagship projects at 6.30 pm on March 12. The Valiamadakulam tourism project (waterfront tourism) was completed at Cheepunkal in Aymanam by spending Rs 4.85 crore and the Cheepunkal House Boat Terminal was included in the Kumarakam Destination Development Tourism project and built on a budget of Rs 1.44 crore the two tourism projects that will be inaugurated by the minister.

A floating restaurant on the west side of the pond that sprawls over five acres, pedal boats, a music fountain and a rain shutter have been completed as part of the project. This tourism project in Aymanam panchayat is going to benefit the tourists who visit Kumarakam. Tourists would be able to enjoy the serene nature at Valiamadakulam, at any time, once the project is inaugurated.

How to reach?
You could reach the Valiamadakulam tourism project area by traveling less than a kilometre on the road towards the west, after the Kavanattinkara bridge in the Kottayam – Kumarakam road. Meanwhile, those who come from Vaikom and Cherthala sides could reach here by taking the first road to the left, after the Cheepunkal bridge.
