During the 2022 World Cup football season, a small village in Kerala's Kozhikode won some global attention for its fandom. The soccer heads in Pullavoor village had installed 30-foot cutouts of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo near the bridge over the Cherupuzha River here. This time, those who remember the 2022 fan frenzy knew that something was cooking in the background in Pullavoor, while the rest of Kerala started sprouting numerous massive football flexes at every corner. Just recently, the Argentina fans here finally revealed what was in store.
The unique fan display for World Cup 2026 here features a stadium model built on a raft, filled with the Argentina team and coach Scaloni. The display also features small cutouts of Messi, other Argentina team members, and the coach standing against the backdrop of a stadium made of flex boards. It has been arranged so that it stands with slight movement in the river.
