Alappuzha: The strike called by a group of houseboat owners and workers partially impacted the tourism sector in the area on Monday.
The All Kerala Houseboats Owners Associations (AKHOA) called for an indefinite strike after failing to reach an agreement over pay revision with unions representing the houseboat employees.
However, boats operated by the members of the Kerala House Boat Owners Federation, which had withdrawn support to the strike, continued their services.
AKHOA members took out a protest march in Alappuzha city ion Monday morning.
Meanwhile, the AKHOA office in the town was attacked by some unidentified persons in the wee hours of Monday. The North Police have registered a case in the incident.
