New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that it will declare the final results of classes 10 and 12, even if the students have missed either of the two term exams, due to various reasons including testing positive for COVID-19.

However, if the student fails to appear for both the exams, he/she will not be allowed to sit for the compartment exam this year. The compartment exams of class 12 would be held on the same day while there would be a gap of 7 days for the class 10 exams.

If a student could not appear in term 1 or term 2 exams as they had to attend sports meet or had tested positive for COVID-19, their final result will be published based on their performance in the term they had appeared. However, other students wouldn’t get this advantage.

Meanwhile, the term 2 exams of classes 10 and 12 begins today (April 26).

Centre code
Last year, the centre code for the class 10 exam was a five-digit number. However, the board said that it would be a 6-digit code this year. In many places, including Kerala, the answer sheets have space to write only the 5 digit code. CBSE announced that in such places, 8 which is the first digit of the code should be written on the left side of the box. Besides, the bubble parallel to the eighth box should be darkened.
