Dileep termed ‘lovely’ by scribe, Tollywood actresses join to vent ire
Manchu Lakshmi (L) was joined by Tapsee Pannu, Rakul Preet Singh and many other actresses to react harshly against the journalist’s tweet.

Known for her boldn and carefree attitude, Tollywood actress Manchu Lakshmi has been in news many a times before for wrong reasons. The 'Kadal' actress who acted in more than 20 feature films in India and the US lost her cool when a woman journalist termed Malayalam superstar Dileep ‘lovely’.

It all began when the journalist tweeted after a baby girl was born to Dileep-Kavya couple recently. Her remarks ‘Lovely couple!’ did not go down well with Lakshmi who never minces her words while speaking her mind.

Lakshmi wondered how someone could call a man who is facing a criminal case in the abduction and molestation of a popular Malayalam actress 'lovely' adding that no Malayalam actresses supported Dileep as he came out of jail on bail in the infamous actress assault case. The fiery actress said it was shameful that the media still favoured the tainted actor.

“Can’t believe you tagged that jerk #Dileep to be lovely who’s still on criminal records for getting an actress kidnapped & almost raped! Women in Malayalam aren’t able to work cos they stood up against him… and here is u & the media, least expected in favor of him. What a shame?! (sic)” she tweeted.

Soon, a bevy of Tollywood beauties joined the bandwagon by tweeting similar responses. Rai Lakshmi, Tapsee Pannu, Shriya Saran and Rakul Preet Singh reacted in harsh manner to the journalist’s tweet. Tapsi asked Dileep to promise his newborn baby that he would not allow anybody else to do something he did to the Malayalam actress.

Shriya Saran said he (Dileep) was a man who tried to kidnap and molest a woman colleague and added that she (the journalist) being a woman should not have shown respect to the actor.

Tapsee and Rai Lakshmi also expressed their angst through their tweets.
