Dosa batter vada and coconut chutney

Crispy and tasty vada could be made using leftover dosa batter. The popular evening snack, called punugulu in some parts of the country, could be enjoyed as a filling breakfast too. This vada tastes best with spicy coconut chutney. Check out the recipe.

Ingredients
1 cup dosa batter
¼ cup semolina
1 onion (thinly sliced)
2 green chillies
1 inch piece of ginger
1 sprig curry leaves
Salt as required
Oil to fry

Preparation
Mix semolina in the dosa batter
Keep it aside for ten minutes
Into it add onion, green chillies, ginger, curry leaves and salt as required
Mix well and keep aside for 10 more minutes
If the batter is too loose, add some more semolina
Heat oil in a pan
Pour 1 tbsp of batter
Fry until the vada is golden on all sides
Crispy dosa batter vada is ready.
