Carrot-rice payasam

This tasty payasam (dessert) could be easily made in a pressure cooker. Check out the recipe.

Ingredients
¼ cup rice
1 cup grated carrot
½ litre milk
1/3 cup sugar
1 tbsp cashews
1 tbsp raisins
1 tbsp ghee
1 cup water
½ tsp cardamom powder

Preparation
Wash the rice and soak for half an hour
Heat ghee in a pressure cooker
Fry the cashews and raisins
Set them aside to be used later
Add the grated carrot
Sauté for 2 minutes
Add the soaked rice and saute for a minute
Pour 1 cup hot water
Cook until two whistles
Now add milk
Allow the payasam to boil
Lower the flame and cook for 5 minutes
Add sugar and boil for a minute
Garnish with cardamom powder and fried cashews and raisins
Tasty carrot-rice payasam is ready!
