Crispy homemade potato chips

Crunchy potato crisps are loved by both the kids and the adults alike. It is quite easy to make tasty potato crisps at home without adding any preservatives or colourants that could be harmful for health. Check out the recipe.

Ingredients
2 tomatoes
1 onion
12 garlic cloves
½ tsp salt
1 tsp chili powder
5 medium sized potatoes
Oil to fry

Preparation
Cut the tomatoes and scoop out the seeds
Slice the onions thinly
Cut the garlic cloves into two
Spread these ingredients on a tray and dry them under the sun
It would take at least 2-3 days for these items to get dried
You could also dry them over stove top; however, it is time consuming
Transfer these ingredients into a mixer jar
Grind them into fine powder
Mix this powder with salt and chili powder
Pass this powder through a sieve to avoid any lumps
This masala powder could be stored in airtight containers and could be used as required
Peel and wash the potatoes
Cut them into thin slices
Soak the potato slices in cold water for at least 15 minutes
Spread the soaked potato slices over a clean piece of cloth
Place another cloth over the potatoes and wipe out the moisture
Keep these aside for at least 20 minutes or until the moisture is completely gone
Fry these slices in hot oil until they are crisp
After the first round of frying, heat up the oil again
Add the fried chips and fry for a few more seconds
Sprinkle the masala powder over the potato crisps
These crisps could get cold and soggy as preservatives aren’t added
So, make sure to store them in air tight jars
Enjoy crunchy potato crisps as a snack with some tomato ketchup.
