Clove tea: An aromatic drink for weight loss

Clove is an important spice that is unavoidable in the traditional Indian masala box. They cannot be ignored while preparing meat dishes or making the good old garam masala. Interestingly, cloves are added to some Ayurvedic medicines and concoctions. Besides, they are great for reducing body weight by improving metabolism. Moreover, cloves add flavour and aroma to flavoured rice items, including biryani and ghee rice. Cloves are loaded with manganese, vitamin K and fibre that can prevent indigestion, reduce inflammation, fight bacteria and ensure oral health. Besides, it contains elements that control the blood sugar level and remove the fat deposits in the body. Clove tea is an excellent drink that can help you lose weight quite easily.

Soak some cloves in a jug full of water. You could drink this water on an empty stomach, the next morning. This would hydrate your body, improve metabolic activities and reduce body weight too. To make clove tea, put some cloves in boiling water. Boil for 5 – 10 minutes before straining into a mug. Clove tea eases digestion, satiates hunger and helps in shedding body weight.

How to use in smoothies
Add a few cloves in soups and curries to make them aromatic and flavoursome. Moreover, cloves wouldn’t add too many calories to the dishes. Adding a pinch of powdered cloves to your smoothie to make it nutritious and tasty. It improves digestion and prevents you from overeating. Cloves are added while baking muffins, cakes and cookies to add more flavour. You could enjoy such desserts without worrying about putting on weight.

Boiling black tea with cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and ginger makes it flavourful and helps improve digestion. You could make milk tea too by adding these spices. Drinking clove tea is excellent for ensuring gut health. Even though there are many amazing benefits to including cloves in your diet, make sure that you don’t overconsume them. Too many cloves could cause stomach ache, vomiting and diarrhoea.
