The aim is earliest implementation of the work assigned by the Kerala government, he noted even as he was guarded in his reaction to the comment about certain countries having allegedly blacklisted the 1987-founded KPMG. “Our work in each country is dependent on the local factors,” is all he would say.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s decision to appoint KPMG to prepare a master plan for the proposed big-time reconstruction of the state has invited diverse reactions. That apart, the advisory services firm will go ahead with its Kerala task, Menon said in his company’s first-ever public response about the matter.

KPMG is discussing ways to rope in the services of experts in the fields of construction, technology and IT. Its representatives have met several industry leaders besides the Kerala CM ahead of submitting the final report to the state government.
