Kidney donor in dire straits as husband, employer abandon her
Sindhu with her mother Gomathi.

Adoor: A woman who donated one of her kidneys as a humanitarian gesture is in dire straits. Sindhu is now without a job or a house to live in, and has no money to take care of her health and three children. On top of all, the Mitrapuram native's husband deserted her and she lost her job.

Sindhu made the organ donation on February 7, 2017, when she was working at an insurance firm in Kochi. She saved the life of her friend, one Sabah of Udumbanchola.

But Sindhu soon lost her job, her only source of income. Three months after Sindhu donated her kidney, her husband left her.

The Snehadeepam fraternity is the only source of solace for Sindhu, her three children and her ailing mother. Yet she is not able to pay the fee for her son, who is in the Plus Two. Her three-year-old daughter has an eye problem which remains unattended. Compounding the problem, she has to vacate her rented house next month.

An account has been opened to help Sindhu and her family at the SBI branch in Pandalam in Pathnamthitta district. (Account number: 67279103807. IFS code: SBIN0070079. Phone: 8943753822.)
