A 12-year-old allegedly self immolated at Pampady here on Saturday. The police suspect that the boy set fire to self after pouring petrol kept at home.
Kunneppalam Arackaparambil Madhav died following the incident that occurred by 11 am. It is alleged that the boy had a fight with his parents earlier.
Madhav, who suffered 80% burns had been rushed to the Kottayam Medical College Hospital, where he was declared dead.
The boy was a seventh standard student of Sree Bhadra School at Cheruvallikavu. The body has been kept in the mortuary of the medical college hospital.
